Hard to Love

Being a female in the 21st century isn’t very easy. Although, has it ever been easy to be a female? I am not blind to the fact that young women feel like they are hard to love, and unfortunately, for some, feel like they are unworthy. For all you ladies, whether you feel worthy or not, I am about to give you your daily, loving, pep-talk. In a world with so much hate, we are responsible for building each other up, spreading positivity, and letting each other know that we are all kick-ass women worthy of love. And better yet, we are worthy of loving.

Honestly, I know I’m not easy to love. But, I also understand being hard to love does not mean I am unworthy of love.

Girls are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. The boys don’t want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that aren’t as good, but easy. So the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they’re amazing. They just have to wait for the right boy to come along, the one who’s brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.

I’m a chronic over-thinker. I always think of things that could go wrong instead of appreciating the things that are going right. I can be over-dramatic. I sometimes overreact. I get insecure. I get jealous.

But just know if I love you, I will be your number 1 fan. I will be your biggest supporter. I will always tell you how much I value you. I will respect you. I will always be on your side. I will never make you question whether I love you or not. I will pour my entire heart into our relationship. I promise wholeheartedly that you will be loved with so much passion and intensity.

I’m not easy to love, the good ones rarely are. No, I’m not easy to love, but I think I’m pretty good at loving.

I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. // Ephesians 4:1-2
